From Greenock to the World Championships Aug 2015
 

Greenock Boxer Ryan Ball will represent Scotland at next months World Championships! 

 

Ryan will fly out on the 2nd of September for just short of 2 weeks and travels with the support of everyone at Greenock Boxing Club.

 

Boxing at 57kg and travelling with 5 other Scottish Boxers we will keep you upto date on how he gets on.

Back Home Aug 2015
 

Greenock Boxing Club's are delighted to announce that we are back home in our gym at Bawhirely Road, Greenock. 

 

After a 6 month spell in temporary accomodation we are back in a fresh club for a great season ahead.

 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Inverclyde Council & Inverclyde Trust for their hardwork in renovating the club.

Greenock Boxing Club's Jay McGinty has been nominated for Inverclyde Junior Sports Personality of the Year 2015. 

After a great first year competing Jay has become Western District Champion and won a silver medal at the Scottish Championships.

Russian Experience for Callen MAR 2015
 

Greenock Boxing Club's Scottish Youth Champion (64kg) Callen McAulay, is currently on a three week training camp in Russia with Boxing Scotand in the city of Anapa. 

Callen & the rest of the Scotland squad pictured to the left will train & spar with boxers from Russia & Cuba in preperation for the 'Nikolay Pavylukov Multi Nation Tournement'. 

A great opportunity for Callen and everyone at the club would like to wish him and team Scotland the best of luck for their upcoming bouts!

Excellent Performances at Scottish Championships MAR 2015
 

Both Tony Orr & Rhys McCole produced excellent performances at the Scottish schoolboy championships. Tony Orr recieving a glowing report from his coaches for his performance in the Scottish Final, Tony becoming the Scottish Champion for the 2nd year running!

 

Rhys McCole boxing in only his 4th fight came through the semi final with an excellent performance, resulting in a stoppage. Rhys then into the final narowly lost out in a close contest to a far more experienced opponent. 

Congratulations to both boys for great performances!

Scottish Intermediate Championships FEB 2015
 

Jamie McMenamin is the new Scottish Intermediate Champion in the 66kg weight divison (1999 age group). 

 

A big congratulations to Jamie for all the hard work put in over the last few years working towards this.

Western District Championships NOV 2014
 

Greenock Boxing Club are proud to announce we have two new Western District Champions! With Robbie McKechnie winning the mens 64 KG division and Martin Harkins becoming the mens 69kg division. 

Robbie won his final by walkover due to an injury to his opponent in the final and Martin won a tough final on a split decision.

A big well done to both boxers and all the coaches for there hard work throughout these championships.  You can click here to view more pictures from the final.

European Championships for Ryan OCT 2014
 

Greenock Boxing Club's Ryan Ball will fly to Russia this month to represent Scotland at the European Championships.

We will keep you up to date on how Ryan progresses in the tournement.
